I&#8217;ve had a lot of fun making The Greeting Card Project during March and I&#8217;m really enjoying\u00a0sending more cards. I feel that the short films\u00a0are gradually improving. I&#8217;m also feeling a lot more comfortable in front of the camera. Mind you,\u00a0it&#8217;s still a challenge to stay composed\u00a0when there\u00a0are\u00a0other people watching me talk\u00a0at my phone in public. Here&#8217;s a quick update on what I&#8217;ve been up to on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCkoGPMBMF5_YJ4jXc4dRw8w\">YouTube<\/a> this month. Click on the images below to watch the videos:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RKOul2848Ck\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I recently attended a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greetingcardassociation.org.uk\">GCA<\/a> industry event and asked different card publishers what their mothers\u00a0meant to them and why Mother&#8217;s Day still matters. It was really interesting to hear the different responses. I decided to mix the format up a little bit and experiment on a shorter video that&#8217;s more shareable, so I didn&#8217;t visit any shops in this one.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wLAXMZpU-zc\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed\u00a0shopping for Mother&#8217;s Day cards at <a href=\"http:\/\/carlys.moonfruit.com\">Carly&#8217;s<\/a>\u00a0in the lovely historic village of Knowle. I also interviewed neuroscientist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drlyndashaw.com\">Dr Lynda Shaw<\/a> to find out why it feels so good to use my new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.penandpaper.co.uk\/product\/lamy-studio-matt-black-fountain-pen\/\">Lamy fountain pen<\/a> to write my greeting cards. This week I created my personal\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jeremycorner\/\">Instagram<\/a> account to promote The Greeting Card Project and gathered over 150 followers in 24 hours before I\u00a0posted my first post! <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/jeremycorner\/\">Click here to follow\u00a0me here on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0dNEdxdBW7g\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I have written most of the cards I&#8217;ve bought on The Greeting Card Project in capital letters. This is primarily because I feel self conscious about how terrible my cursive handwriting is. Capital letters are very &#8216;shouty&#8217; though. Whilst it might work for the words &#8216;HAPPY BIRTHDAY&#8217;, it&#8217;s not great for feeling connected as it&#8217;s a\u00a0little aggressive and is not a very gentle way of writing. I decided to try and get to grips with my handwriting by talking to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pentopaperonline.com\">Pen to Paper<\/a>, a specialist independent shop in the North Lanes of Brighton. I also send birthday cards to three friends that inspire me.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/d27O-gTCgjY\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I love visiting the <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.tate.org.uk\/shopping-at-tate\/visit-our-shops\/page\/visitourshops\">Tate Modern<\/a>. It is a spectacular building with great views of London and four different shops within. They have an eclectic mix of unusual cards and some from their in-house set up which feature their artists. This week&#8217;s focus is on cards for friends I haven&#8217;t seen for a long time. It felt so lovely to reach out to them with a greeting card for their birthdays. I also decided to revamp all of the thumbnails for my videos as I wasn&#8217;t particularly happy with them. The new ones look much better and will hopefully attract more click throughs.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not getting as much feedback on my videos this month, so I&#8217;ve started to look further afield to see if I can join more groups of people who like cards and might be interested in my project. I need all the comments I can get so that I can keep making better videos.<\/p>\n<p>The third\u00a0month of\u00a0the\u00a0channel had 1,008\u00a0views with viewers\u00a0watching over 29 hours of\u00a0The Greeting Card Project for an average of 1:44 per video. The channel gained 11 more\u00a0subscribers, \u00a037 shares and accumulated 35 likes and 9\u00a0dislikes.<\/p>\n<p>If you do watch and enjoy the videos please pop over to YouTube and subscribe, as I need to get to 100 subscribers in order to get the specific\u00a0URL for the project (at the moment it&#8217;s just a random string of numbers).
