We had a fantastic record breaking show at the Home & Gift trade show in Harrogate this week. Thanks to everyone who came to see us in the new Hall H for greeting card publishers. To be honest, we were concerned that buyers wouldn't find us and be confused by the move. Having had such a good stand downstairs in Hall F for the last 10 years and because the 2011 Home and Gift show was one of our best ever, the last thing we wanted was to lose sales because of the change of hall.
We needn't have worried. Hall H is a massive improvement on the underground car park where we had previously been exhibiting. The ceiling is higher, it is brighter and the stands are tall, wooden clad and perfectly sized for displaying greeting cards. It was also well publicised before the show and well sign posted on site. Clarion, the organisers have really paid attention to the needs of card publishers and delivered a fantastic new platform for cards at the show. In fact, one buyer said to me that the entire show looked better than she'd ever seen it. I think this hall will go from strength to strength in the future.
Our new Spring designs and our new Blossom everyday range launched at the show. We had a great response to both, opening many new accounts and taking advance Spring orders from our lots of our customers. We also had a lot of buyers touching our cards on the stand. This year's Spring collection is very tactile and we had a lot of good feedback and interest in our new card ranges.
